    Longines FEI World Cup Western European League - Oslo Horse Show

    The first leg of the 2017 / 2018 season of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Western European League was marked by the victory of Daniel Deusser (GER) on Cornet in Oslo on Sunday 15 October 2017. Kevin Staut (FRA) on For Joy van’t Zorgvliet HDC arrived second while Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) on California finished third. Longines is proud to be associated as the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping series (Western European, North American and China Leagues), where riders will compete for the qualifying points for the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final in Paris in April 2018. Besides, the spectators of this thrilling competition had the occasion to discover the Official watch of the event, a new blue model of the Longines Master Collection, a line representing the classical elegance and watchmaking expertise of the brand. The featured timepiece is a lady model in steel displaying a blue dial with diamond indexes matching its blue alligator strap and houses an automatic movement.

    Longines Beijing Masters

    The Bird’s Nest was the host of the 2017 edition of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters and thus gathered the best Chinese and international riders for three intense days of competition. As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the event, Longines was proud to time the exceptional performance of Swedish rider Henrik von Eckermann on Cincitty who claimed the Longines Grand Prix, which rounded off the weekend. The podium was completed by Lauren Houghand on Leonidas and Christian Ahlmann on Cinetto. Taiwanese model and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Chi Ling Li who joined the brand in Beijing as a special guest, presented Henrik von Eckermann with an elegant Longines timepiece. As the Official Watch of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters, Longines was highlighting a lady model from the Longines Equestrian Collection, a line created as an allegory to the equestrian world. This timepiece, featuring a checkerboard pattern dial, repeats the lines of the rectangular buckle found on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes. The elegance of this model is elevated by a ribbon of diamonds that enhances the harmonious curves of the case.

    Longines celebrates its 185th Anniversary in Hong Kong in the presence of its Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok Hong

    This year, the company is celebrating its 185th Anniversary. To mark its historical tribute to contemporary elegance, Longines is pleased to present the “185th Anniversary Exhibition”, a selection of emblematic collections, preciously treasured in the brand’s museum in Saint-Imier. These iconic timepieces, as well as a series of devices for air and sea navigation and pocket watches, will be on display in Hong Kong, at the iSQUARE mall in Kowloon. Aaron Kwok, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, was invited to unveil the exhibition with Ms. Karen Au Yeung, Vice President  of Longines Hong  Kong  and  Mr.  KanLam, Managing Director  for  Tic  Tac  International  Company  Ltd. “It is  a great honour and  pleasure  to have  been appointed as Ambassador of Elegance and I have had so many opportunities to share such wonderful times with the brand over the years.     175 days until gold coast 2018 commonwealth games

    Today, Swiss watchmaker Longines unveiled its countdown clock for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) of which it is the Official Timekeeper and Watch.  The 5.2 metre tall, 1.75 tonne clock was unveiled by Longines Friend of the Brand and Commonwealth Games hopeful, Amy Pejkovic; GC2018 Ambassador and Swimmer, Cam McEvoy; along with children from St Pius’ Primary School Banyo. Minister for the Commonwealth Games Kate Jones MP, Mr Peter Beattie AC, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) Chairman; Mrs Amelia Michael, General Manager Australia, Longines; former sprinter Matt Shirvington; and Borobi, the GC2018 Mascot were also on hand. GOLDOC Chairman, Peter Beattie AC said, “Longines’ world-renowned experience in delivering timing, scoring and results were absolutely critical to delivering a great Games. With thousands of athletes competing across 18 sports and 7 para-sports Longines will be delivering precise timing, scoring and result services to feed the global broadcast and provide official results for every heat, match and final across every event at GC2018.” Longines Friend of the Brand, Amy Pejkovic, said it was an honour to represent the brand for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. “I’m excited to partner with Longines for GC2018.  I’m currently training hard and aiming to represent Australia on the Gold Coast next year. Competing at a home Games is a once in a lifetime opportunity and positions on the Aussie team will be hotly contested.  Everyone involved in Australian sports is really looking forward to the Commonwealth Games,” said Ms Pejkovic. Children from St Pius’ Primary School, Banyo helped Cam McEvoy and Amy Pejkovic remove an 11 metre Longines navy silk from the Longines countdown clock which will count down the minutes, hours and days until the commencement of GC2018.     Congratulations to Giulia Steingruber on her bronze medal

    Longines wishes to warmly congratulate its Ambassador of Elegance Giulia Steingruber on winning the bronze medal in the vault competition held on Saturday 7 October 2017. The Swiss artistic gymnast recently made her comeback to the competition after a long period of absence due to an injury. At the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montréal, Canada, she took a very good 7th place at the Final of the individual All-Around competition before earning third place in the vault. Giulia Steingruber achieved this feat one year after winning the same medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

    Longines FEI World Cup China League - Final Leg - Beijing

    The Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping China League Final, which took place from October 5-8 in Chaoyang Park, Beijing was marked by the victory of Indiana van ‘ T Heike’s rider Ruiji Liang. The Chinese rider claimed the title in front of Yihua Duan and Lucy Davis.   During the event, the Swiss watch brand organized its Longines Prize for Elegance, which rewarded the most elegant lady in attendance. Mrs. Xian Dandan was presented with a Longines timepiece from the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing.   As FEI’s Top Partner, Longines is the Title Partner of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping, including the Western European League, China League and North American League, as well as the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Final, taking place in Bercy, Paris, in 2018.

    Longines FEI World Cup North American League - Rancho Murieta

    On Saturday 7 October 2017, American rider Mandy Porter on Milano claimed victory at the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League qualifier in Rancho Murieta. Jenni McAllister on Legis Touch the Sun (USA) finished second ahead of Richard Spooner (USA) on Chatinus. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the series, the Swiss watchmaker Longines was proud to present the winner with an elegant timepiece. This world-class event was also the occasion for the spectators to discover the Official Watch, a lady model of the Longines Equestrian Collection, inspired by the rectangular buckle on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes.

    FIG 47th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships - Montréal

    As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montréal, Longines was proud to present the Longines Prize for Elegance to Brooklyn Moore and Kenzo Shirai. All participants in the individual men and women All-around finals held respectively on Thursday October 5th and Friday October 6th were nominated for this elegant contest. Brooklyn Moore and Kenzo Shirai impressed the whole jury in displaying perfect coordination and intangible grace, beauty and harmony known as “elegance”, a value which Longines cherishes, as illustrated in its motto “Elegance is an Attitude”. Apart from purely technical considerations, the criteria applied by the jury are based on elegance, harmonious movement and emotion during the performances. The winners received an elegant Longines timepiece, a trophy, as well as a cheque.  In Montréal, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Morinari Watanabe, FIG President, Ian Charbonneau, Longines Brand Manager Canada as well as Nadia Comaneci, former gymnast, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Ambassador and spokesperson for the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The jury’s individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgment reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts’ performances. Besides, these World Championships were also the occasion for Longines to cheer for its Ambassador of Elegance Giulia Steingruber, who latterly made her comeback to the competition after a long period of absence due to an injury.     On Sunday 1st October, the Belgian rider Pieter Devos on Claire Z captured the Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona at the Longines FEI Nations CupTM Jumping Final and received an elegant Longines watch for his remarkable victory. The 2017 world’s best national riders’ team is Team Netherlands who claimed first place at the Longines FEI Nations CupTM Jumping Final yesterday night. In front of an ecstatic audience, Jur Vrieling, Michel Hendrix, Marc Houtzager and Harrie Smolders were all presented with an elegant Longines watch as a reward for their fantastic victory at the Barcelona Real Polo Club.
