Run for the second edition year in Chantilly, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a race which generates year after year unmatched enthusiasm, as evidenced by the ten thousands spectators in attendance, as well as the billion viewers installed in front of the television screens to watch the performance of some of the best world’s racehorses. Besides, this unique horseracing event earned its worldwide reputation as it received the prestigious Longines World’s Best Horse Race award, which was presented for the first time by the IFHA and Longines in January 2016. The eponymous race saw the victory of Enable, ridden by Frankie Dettori. On this occasion, the brand presented the jockey, trainer and owner of the winning horses with elegant Longines timepieces. Accumulating points throughout the whole calendar year, the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse will be determined from the horse’s 10 best results of the year in the Longines Rankings, whereas The Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider will be the leading rider in the Longines Rankings at the end of the year. Capturing the suspense and excitement throughout the year as the world’s best Jumping athletes and horses battle it out on the international circuit, the winners’ of these two new awards will be presented with a Longines watch and trophy during the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Final held in Paris in April 2018. Points for the Longines Rankings are accumulated in Grands Prix*, the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping and the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping, including the Finals, as well as the World and European Senior Championships. In addition to being the FEI’s Top Partner, Longines is also the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping Final, which took place today at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.
