    10 Days to Go - The Countdown is on for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

    As the Official Timekeeper and Presenting Partner of Athletics, Gymnastics, Rugby Sevens and Table Tennis of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Longines looks forward to 11 action packed days of sporting excellence, elegance at Longines Records Club and precision in timing in Australia from 4 April 2018. In exactly 10 days from now, the message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II sealed in the Queen’s Baton, of which Longines is the proud Partner, will be revealed at the Opening Ceremony. This moment will mark the official beginning of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, one of the greatest multi-sport events with athletes participating from 70 Commonwealth nations and territories. From 4 to 15 April, Longines will be delivering precise timing, scoring and result services to feed the global broadcast and provide official results of all the competitions which will be held during the event. Longines once again wishes all the best to all participating athletes and is looking forward to seeing many record-breaking performances captured by its official timekeeping equipment throughout the 11 days of the Games.

    The Queen’s Baton Relay arrived in Cairns

    Today, Australian archery champion Taylor Worth carried the Queen’s Baton in Cairns, with the Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games at his wrist. Bearing the colours of this great international sporting event, this exceptional timepiece features an engraving of the Gold Coast 2018 logo with the mention “Gold Coast 2018 XXI Commonwealth Games”. Longines is delighted to be the Official Partner of the Queen’s Baton Relay, which is traveling through the nations of the Commonwealth to the Opening Ceremony of the XXI Commonwealth Games on 4 April 2018.
