Longines welcomes Philipp Boy in the Longines Family

June 07, 2018

Longines is proud to announce that former German gymnast Philipp Boy is now a member of the prestigious Longines family. Combining intangible grace and harmony in movement true to his sports discipline, Philipp Boy is perfectly in line with Longines’ motto: “Elegance is an attitude”.

Member of the World bronze medal winning teams in 2007 and 2010, Boy won two silver medals in the World All-Around Championships in two consecutive years (2010 and 2011).  In Stuttgart in 2010, he won the Longines Prize for Elegance, which rewards the athlete with the most emotional appeal, as well as displaying grace and innate elegance.

At a European level, he claimed the gold medal in the European Championships, in Team and All-Around (2011 and 2011), two silver medals in Team and High Bar (2008 and 2011) and one bronze medal in High Bar (2010).

Currently living in Berlin with his family, Phillip Boy is a presenter and a sports expert, as well as an independent financial consultant.

This new collaboration echoes Longines’ long-lasting involvement in both Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics, as the brand is the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships and FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. At these events, Longines provides the necessary infrastructure and personnel for calculating times, presenting scores, processing data (start lists, results, and medals) and displaying it on the results screens, on the commentators’ information system as well as transmitting it to the television companies that are covering the competitions.

Today, the new Conquest V.H.P. represents the ultimate step in the quartz precision worn on the wrist. It is equipped with a movement developed by the ETA manufacturing company exclusively for Longines.
